Daniel Hultgren appointed CTO of Litium – uniting the technology organization following the Geins acquisition

Litium has appointed Daniel Hultgren as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The appointment marks the next step following Litium’s acquisition of Geins and brings the company’s technology organization under one unified leadership. Daniel has extensive experience at Litium and, in his new role, will assume overall responsibility for technology across the company.

Daniel Hultgren has been part of Litium since 2011 and has held several senior positions within the company, including CIO and, most recently, COO. As CTO, he will now be responsible for the combined technology organization, bringing together teams and expertise from Litium and the former Geins organization under one leadership.

“The acquisition of Geins brought us both new technology and strong expertise that complement what we already had within Litium. Since then, we have been working step by step to bring the organizations closer together. Uniting the technology organization under Daniel’s leadership is a natural next step and gives us even better conditions to make full use of our combined expertise and capacity for innovation,” says Martin Billenius, CEO of Litium.

Daniel succeeds Henrik Rosén, who joined Litium as interim CTO in May 2025 with responsibility for the company’s technology and product development, with a particular focus on AI and scalable cloud-based solutions. As Litium now moves forward with a permanent CTO solution, Daniel Hultgren will assume overall responsibility for the technology organization following the acquisition of Geins.

“Henrik joined Litium at an important stage and has contributed both valuable experience and new perspectives to our technology development. We are very pleased with the work he has done together with the team. We are now taking the next step by bringing the technology organization under permanent leadership,” says Martin Billenius.

For Daniel, the new role means taking clearer overall responsibility for an area he has worked with throughout much of his time at Litium.

“Today, we have very strong combined technical expertise and several technology assets to build on. For me, the next step is about enabling the teams to work even more closely together and creating the best possible conditions for innovation, efficient development and, above all, an even stronger offering for our customers and partners,” says Daniel Hultgren.

Daniel Hultgren will assume the role on October 1.
