Olivia Axelsson has extensive experience in the industry and began her journey back in 2016, when the company was still known as Geins. Over the years, both the technology and the organization have evolved rapidly, and Olivia has been part of that journey through change, growth, and new ways of working.
What has made her thrive over the years is, to a large extent, the people. She describes her time at Geins as something special, where the small team created a strong sense of community and close collaboration. Working closely together and building relationships with colleagues who support and inspire each other was an important part of the experience.
At Litium, she has brought that mindset with her into a larger context.
She describes a great atmosphere at the office and within the team, where it’s easy to feel included and part of something bigger. Compared to before, the setting is different, but in a positive way. Today, she is part of a larger team with more perspectives and competencies, while still experiencing the same open and supportive culture.
What has kept her in the industry is the pace of change. She describes working in tech as being like staying in school for life, where there is always something new to learn. Right now, that pace is faster than ever, not least due to how AI is constantly reshaping both tools and ways of working.
In her role, Olivia works closely with product development, combining technical expertise with a strong eye for design and user experience. She describes her strength as that very combination – being a developer with a sense for UX and detail, and a strong drive to always deliver high-quality work.
She is motivated by creating solutions that not only work, but feel polished all the way through. It’s about getting the whole picture right, where every detail contributes to a better user experience. At the same time, she finds it hard to hand something over unless she is fully satisfied with it, which means the level of what she delivers is consistently high.
The creative freedom in her role is an important part of what makes the work so enjoyable. Being able to influence, explore ideas, and develop solutions that make a real difference in the platform is something she truly cares about.
Her drive and skills are also evident outside of Litium. She has competed several times in the developer competition Code in the Dark and recently made it to the finals at Nordic.js, an achievement that says a lot about both her technical level and her sense for frontend and design.
Outside of work, the pace is just as high, but in a completely different way.
She grew up between Stockholm and Södertälje and has lived in several places around the world, including Los Angeles, Barcelona, Portugal, and Ibiza. Today, she enjoys moving between different environments, and during the summers she spends much of her time living in her van, traveling between skydiving clubs across Sweden and Europe.

Skydiving is a major passion. Since starting in 2017, she has completed nearly 650 jumps, and it has become a lifestyle that shapes much of her free time. In addition, she also practices paragliding, preferably along a scenic coastline somewhere in the world.
At the same time, her curiosity goes far beyond the skies. She is currently learning to play the drums, studying Spanish, and has recently started tufting, creating her own rugs.
