A complex structure and numerous requirements
When TMHI was procuring a new CMS system, there were many requirements. Naturally, the system had to function globally and have a fast CDN. They also wanted to set up subsites where distributors in different countries could create their own content while still receiving all product information from TMHI. Lastly, they desired a user interface that would make it easy for TMHI and the distributors to manage updates.
“Above all, it was essential for us to have a system that could cater for our future needs. We cannot develop a site that restricts us in our globalization plan; that is not an option," says Hanna Durlind, Manager Online & Marketing Group at TMHI.
The complex structure was also something the intended CMS partner needed to handle. TMHI is part of the Toyota group and handles truck sales support in South and Central America, Africa, the Middle East, Oceania, and Southeast Asia.
They work through various distributors, totalling around 70, where many local sales occur in languages other than English. Digital maturity varies among the different distributors, further emphasizing the need for simplicity.
Litium's system enables globalization
Thanks to Litium's extensive experience and flexible system, TMHI quickly realized they had found the right partner. Now, they have the opportunity to build subsites for different countries and distributors. At the same time, the system is simple enough for both TMHI and the distributors to manage most tasks independently.
TMHI had already begun developing its PIM system. Therefore, the first step was to integrate the PIM system with Litium's CMS so that they could access relevant product information. With integration into the PIM system, the detailed information on the products increased, enabling the possibility to filter and easily compare different products.
Great possibilities with the new platform
Currently, the focus is optimizing the platform, which has been live since mid-February. The TMHI team is also working on content creation and SEO to increase the new website's visibility. After that, the next step on a local level will involve communicating with the distributors to determine the next steps.
The requirement from TMHI was that the distributors should be able to integrate an e-commerce solution, which is fully achievable with Litium's platform. However, this imposes entirely new requirements on the distributors regarding inventory management and information for their customers. One challenge is managing long lead times since production occurs in factories worldwide if the delivery is made directly from the factory.
“Naturally, we see great possibilities with the new platform from Litium. Being able to make personalized and targeted offers, for example, will significantly boost our sales and digital presence," says Gruszka Milosz, General Manager Business Support & Marketing at TMHI.
