the printed catalogue, B2B company Runelandhs now seriously has leaped into the digital world. Today, e-commerce is playing an increasingly important role in fulfilling the vision of being the leader in service and availability, as well as for company business.
Carefully selecting the right platform
The launch of the new Runelandhs e-commerce site in 2015 was preceded by a thorough pre-study. An extensive customer survey formed the basis for defining the requirements and paved the way for conversations and visits to a variety of suppliers.

Improved marketing with the product catalogue online
- We are actively working to enrich our online assortment with good, inspiring content. Pictures, manuals and movies allow us to show how our products can be used and what benefits they provide, says Fredric Johansson.
This is where the digital e-commerce provides major advantages over the traditional catalogue, also in terms of flexibility. While the catalogue is printed twice a year, the online store is updated immediately when needed.
The majority of buying decisions are made online
From virtually all transactions having been made over the phone, e-commerce currently accounts for about a third of Runelandhs’ turnover. When including the customers who first read and make their choice online before placing an order over the phone, the figure is getting closer to 60%.
- The new e-commerce solution is simply a boost that makes it easier and faster to do business with Runelandhs. Many of our customers also have operations in warehouses and industrial flooring. Our shop is responsive, which means we have been able to move buying decisions closer to our mobile end users. I'm surprised by how much is bought directly on mobile phones, even larger and more complex products, says Frederic Johansson.
